The Scottish Championship, also known as the cinch Championship due to sponsorship, is the second tier of Scotland's professional football league system. The league consists of 10 teams, who play each other four times throughout the season. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Scottish Premiership, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Scottish League One.
The current leaders of the Championship are Arbroath, who have won seven of their first nine matches. They are followed by Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ayr United, who are both tied on points but have a slightly inferior goal difference. At the other end of the table, Queen of the South are currently bottom with just one point from their first nine matches.
The Championship is always a competitive league, and this season is no exception.
